SEO, in practice

SEO (search engine optimisation) is everything that makes your website show up on Google when a customer searches for what you offer: “employment lawyer Monthey” or “takeaway pizza Aigle”. Nothing magic: a well-built website, copy that answers the right questions, and a little patience. Here's how it works in practice.

01

What Google looks at

TechnicalA fast, mobile-friendly website with no broken pages and a structure robots can crawl. It's the foundation: without it, nothing else counts.
ContentPages that answer the questions your customers actually type: “emergency plumber Monthey”, “showcase website price Valais”. One clear page per service and per need.
ReputationCustomer reviews, local mentions and links from other websites. Google uses them to decide who to trust when several sites answer the same search.

Our method,
step by step

1

Audit and keywords

We identify the searches that actually bring customers in your region, and see where you stand against your direct competitors.

Example — For a beauty institute, “laser hair removal Aigle” is worth more than “beauty”: less volume, but people ready to book.
2

Website structure

Every important service gets its own page, with a dedicated title, address and content. We fix speed, mobile and markup along the way.

Example — An “Order online” page separate from “Our menu” lets you rank on two families of searches instead of one.
3

Content and local SEO

We write or rework the copy, then polish your Google Business profile: categories, photos, opening hours, replies to reviews. It's often what shows up first.

Example — A complete profile with recent photos and answered reviews outranks better-established but inactive competitors.
4

Measurement and adjustments

We track rankings, visits and above all actions: calls, quote requests, bookings. Whatever produces nothing gets reworked.

Example — If a page attracts visits without generating calls, it's a content or targeting problem, not an SEO one. We fix the page, not the keywords.

Realistic timelines

SEO is long-term work. Promising the top spot in a month is lying. Here's what we see on our projects in French-speaking Switzerland.

  1. Month 1Audit, technical fixes, optimised Google profile. First effects on local searches.
  2. Months 2–3New pages are indexed and start ranking on low-competition searches.
  3. Months 4–6Progress on the main searches. Traffic becomes measurable and steady.
  4. BeyondMaintenance: fresh content, reviews, adjustments. Rankings won have to be defended.
